TranslateKey (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides the App. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

2. What We Collect

Device identifier (hardware UUID): We collect a hardware UUID to track usage counts (e.g., number of translations used). This identifier is anonymous and is not linked to your name or email.
License key: If you purchase a Pro subscription, your license key is stored locally on your device to verify your subscription status.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers — unless you contact us directly for support.
The text you translate. Text is sent directly to the DeepL API for translation and is not stored by us.
Browsing history, location data, or any information beyond what is described above.

4. How We Use Your Information

Usage tracking: The hardware UUID is used solely to count how many translations you have performed, to enforce free-tier limits.
License verification: Your license key is used to verify that you have an active Pro subscription.
Support: If you contact us by email, we use your email address to respond to your inquiry.

5. Third-Party Services

DeepL API: Text you select for translation is sent to DeepL’s servers to perform the translation. DeepL’s privacy policy applies to this data. We do not store the translated text.
LemonSqueezy: All subscription payments are processed by LemonSqueezy. We do not store your payment details. LemonSqueezy’s privacy policy governs their data practices.
Cloudflare: Our API proxy is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare may process request metadata (IP addresses, timestamps) as part of its service. We do not log personal data through Cloudflare.

6. Cookies and Analytics

We do not use cookies, analytics platforms, or any tracking technologies on this website or in the App. We do not track your behavior across websites or apps.

7. Data Retention

Usage counts (keyed to your hardware UUID) are stored in Cloudflare KV with no personally identifiable information attached. We do not retain your name, email, or any PII beyond what you voluntarily provide for support purposes.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, rectify, or request deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Since we collect no PII by default, there is typically no personal data to delete.

If you contacted us for support and want your email removed from our records, or if you wish to request deletion of your usage data (keyed to your hardware UUID), please email us at support@translatekey.com with your request and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised date. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
